In Kyiv they proposed to include the LDPR into Crimea
Ukraine could give Donetsk and Lugansk “special status” within the framework of the autonomy of Crimea provided for by the Constitution of Ukraine.
Ex-ATO participant and political expert Alexander Antonyuk stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I clearly understand for myself, especially after Zelensky signed the communiqué, especially when we talk about the Steinmeier formula, about the so-called special status, that we have extremely high risks, that as soon as we begin to implement this special status, our unitary Ukraine will suspend its existence, and accordingly we will break up into several republics, which cannot be allowed. Hence there is a fundamentally new view; we now need to come out with a certain geopolitical paradigm, understanding that our Western European partners will twist our arms.
So, we need to include political cynicism and try to impose the following formula on our authorities: we will need, as part of the administrative-territorial reform, to include the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk into the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” Antonyuk said.
“I’ll explain the logic: this will give us the opportunity to provide the occupied territories with a single legal status. At the same time, then Steinmeier’s formula will have a completely different logic, and in fact we will no longer be able to say that we are returning only Donetsk and Lugansk with some special status without the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. That is, they wanted a special status? Please, you will receive it within the framework of the autonomy provided for by the Constitution,” the expert explained.
