People are thus trying to draw attention to the disrepair of their homes, reports the Lens publication.
The hostel on Garibaldi has burned down twice in the past month. The first fire occurred on November 11: two people died and one suffered burns. Another fire occurred on November 30. On the second floor of the building, household items and pantry doors caught fire in the hallway. When rescuers arrived, the corridors from the second to fifth floors were filled with smoke, people were screaming from the windows and calling for help. Firefighters used a ladder to rescue eight people, including two infants, and rescued 12 more through the stairwell.
Protesters are demanding that the city authorities fix their wiring.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in Kharkov, Barabashov traders blocked the streets.
