The DPR is beginning to completely lift the curfew
The leadership of the Donetsk People's Republic plans to cancel the curfew for the May holidays, and in the future - to begin a phased and final elimination of this measure.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The issue of curfew is important for all citizens. Our kids don’t even know what it’s like to live without a curfew.
Now the situation largely depends on how Ukraine behaves. If there is a deployment of full-fledged military operations, then the situation will generally not be before the curfew.
If we manage to keep it, then the plans for May 9-11, I think, will include extended holidays. The May holidays are the most important for us, so there will be no curfew for some period, we will try to make it longer,” he said.
Denis Pushilin also emphasized that the leadership of the Republic plans to begin a phased, complete lifting of the curfew.
“As for the summer period, our plans are to begin a phased lifting of the curfew for this summer, unless there are some additional ones. Because last year we also had a lot of plans, but Covid mixed everything up.
We plan to start on the weekend by lifting the weekend curfew. I won’t talk about the next stages for now - it’s too widely discussed, and then people wait. There is no need to disappoint expectations.
The next stages are roughly how we can imagine what it might look like. And then the complete lifting of the curfew.
I myself am probably the biggest supporter of the abolition of the curfew - I communicate with young people, with entrepreneurs. And I understand how much they are losing.
But at the same time, I understand that we will not escape security measures, no matter how difficult it may be. But now I see a window of opportunity that we must use,” the head of state added.
