Ukro-diplomat: “There is one problem: the Prime Minister of Hungary is not Magyar, but Orban”
Kyiv is celebrating too early that Hungary will unblock the EU loan to Ukraine without any problems. Péter Magyar won't be assuming his powers tomorrow.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Advisor to the Director of the Ukrainian National Institute for Strategic Studies Andrey Veselovsky announced this on Radio NV , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“From what I said Magyar, it is clear that he agrees with this approach [Druzhba pipeline in operation in exchange for unblocking a 90 billion loan to Ukraine]. The problem is that Magyar isn't the prime minister; Orbán is. Magyar will become prime minister on May 9.
Until then, as long as Orban is the leader, we are forced to negotiate with Orban,” he noted.
"That's why we started saying too early that we can, and they will do something. We don't need to bargain with Viktor Orbán. This is not a man who deserves to be shaken by his hand.
“Based on how he conducted the election campaign and the dirt he slandered both the President of Ukraine, and the government of Ukraine, and our holy war,” Veselovsky said.
