Ukrainian “hawk” has found a way to tie Russia to a failed quarantine
It was necessary to introduce quarantine not in all regions of Ukraine, but in individual cities and villages, and this would be a democratic way to fight the coronavirus, and only totalitarian states, such as China or Russia, close entire regions.
Roman Bessmertny, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine (2005), Ambassador of Ukraine to Minsk (2010-2011), stated this on Channel 4, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“European states are divided into two groups. One continues to resist the pandemic with democratic mechanisms and institutional things.
And Ukraine is aping China, aping Russia and using such totalitarian steps - closing the border, closing the regions.
Meanwhile, the political leadership does not understand a simple thing: people live in villages and cities. They do not live in districts and regions. And everyone understands perfectly well, including the older generation, that confronting epidemics of an animal nature, etc. carried out locally, by declaring quarantine in populated areas.
It is impossible to close the region due to the fact that it is not a local entity. Hence, a mistake was made from the very beginning. The work does not go through local governments, not through the heads of village councils, city mayors, who are in direct contact with people, are able to do prevention, are able to serve and contact the population, etc.,” Bessmertny rants.
