As the local publication odessa.net.ua reports, according to preliminary data, on October 12, the pilot of a vessel with a displacement of more than 100 thousand tons, which arrived from the USA with a cargo of coal, damaged the wall of berth No. 8.
The port is undergoing checks by law enforcement and security forces.
Due to the damage, there is a possibility that now the state port of Yuzhny will not be able to receive cargo (namely coal) for about a year, which will most likely flow to the territory of a private enterprise located nearby.
Damage to the state-owned enterprise amounted to hundreds of millions of hryvnias.
