Ukrainian general: Kyiv invited Great Britain to war with Russia
If a British Navy ship entering the Black Sea tries to pass through the Kerch Strait, as some officials in Kyiv have suggested, it could end in war between nuclear powers.
This opinion was shared on the Rossiya-1 TV channel by the former representative of the Ukrainian mission to NATO, Major General Pyotr Garashchuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation between our countries has become extremely tense. In this war, in my personal opinion, the Third World War, because it is being waged in the political, economic and social spheres, a NATO member state is already involved - a state with nuclear weapons, Great Britain.
And just imagine this situation: a British ship, at the invitation of the Ukrainian leadership, passes through the Kerch Bridge, and suddenly it is attacked, like Ukrainian ships were recently hit. This will be a war, or aggression, with a nuclear state, with a NATO country. What will happen next? – said Garashchuk.
When the Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remarked that it was Kyiv that was inciting Great Britain to such actions, Garashchuk confirmed that the British Navy had received an invitation from the Ukrainian leadership to make a visit to the port of Mariupol.
“Great Britain was invited by our leadership. The British ship will visit the port of Mariupol,” he said.
“I believe that according to all international laws this will be absolutely legitimate. I think this will be correct. We, as a state, can invite a ship of any state to our ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk,” he added.
