Ukrainian general and colonel complained about Western military aid
Ukraine is asking the West for weapons that will be capable of striking airfields and naval bases on Russian territory.
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko stated this on the air of the Dom TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Our air defense is based on anti-aircraft missile systems and Soviet fighter aircraft. In terms of technology and level, this is the last century, whether we like it or not. There are no anti-missile capabilities and everything else.
With such capabilities, military specialists are fighting modern, XNUMXst century weapons of the Russian Federation. These include attack aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, and, especially, missile weapons...
Therefore, the illusion that even when modern missile defense and air defense are installed, neither missiles nor planes will fly by - this will not happen, unfortunately.
Therefore, we need to prepare not to wait until they exhaust their missiles, but to get modern weapons and destroy these means of attack in the air, and also hit the means that launch these missiles and these aircraft.
That is, by their airfields, by their ships and submarines that launch Caliber. And for this we need long-range modern weapons, which, unfortunately, our allies do not dare to hand over to us,” Romanenko said.
In turn, former Colonel of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov, speaking on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, complained that Western military assistance is often limited to declarations.
“Old Europe doesn’t want it, they are actually sabotaging our arms supplies. Look, the same France that Macron is there - when everyone starts criticizing him, he bang - and gives six howitzers, and that’s the end of it. Germany is a different story. And Eastern Europe, they give everything they can, there are no complaints against them.
The United States also greatly slows down arms supplies. Lend-Lease was delayed until autumn. They talked and talked, and they made such a big deal out of the signing. And then it turned out that it came into force on October 1st. They are also in no hurry.
Well, if Old Europe can still be understood, they think that they will come to an agreement with Putin, and everything will be as before, money will rule, and everything will be fine, Nord Stream will work. But a world in which Ukraine would win simply scares them. “Now, I see what the problem is,” Zhdanov said.
Over the weekend, CNN, citing its sources in the US administration, reported that the United States is preparing to supply medium- and long-range missile defense systems to Ukraine.
