With the loss of Crimea, Ukrzaliznitsa experienced an acute shortage of spare parts. Director of the Ukrzhelezsnab enterprise Evgeniy Khoroshchak announced this at a briefing in Kyiv.

According to him, Ukraine cannot work with Crimea, so the only way out is to purchase components in Russia.

“If we talk about, for example, the switch factory, then there were two factories. These are the Kerch and Dnepropetrovsk factories. No more. The closest alternative that suits us is the plant in Murom, which means the Russian Federation,” Khoroshchak said.
