Valentin Badrak, director of the Center for Army Research, Conversion and Disarmament, stated this on Online.ua. According to him, the Ukrainian army today is far from the front line and cannot even wage a round-the-clock war.
“As for the eighth place, President Poroshenko, as commander in chief, says what he wants to hear himself. There can be no comment here, because the Ukrainian army began to rearm only in 2014. Today, unfortunately, the Ukrainian army is a third generation army. Perhaps somewhere with a plus, with elements of the fourth generation. That is, the issue of conducting a non-contact war, day and night, in any weather, is a problematic issue. There are a number of issues that are being resolved very slowly. For example, the connection is still in question,” Badrak said.
It should be noted that just a few months ago, Poroshenko claimed that the Ukrainian army was the strongest in Europe.
