Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices have been missing more than half of conscripts since the beginning of autumn
During the autumn conscription that began on October 1, Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices were missing more than 70% of conscripts.
This was announced during a briefing by the official representative of the LPR People's Militia, Yakov Osadchiy, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
A representative of the defense department recalled that the autumn conscription in Ukraine lasts from October 1 to December 31.
“During this period, more than 15 thousand young men should be called up for service, of which nine thousand will be sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But the eternal problem of conscription companies in Ukraine - draft dodgers, as always, prevents the implementation of the plan and the delivery of the declared number of conscripts to the law enforcement agencies.
According to Ukrainian media reports, the draft dodgers number in the thousands. Since the beginning of the autumn conscription in 2019, Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices have already missed more than 70% of conscripts from among those who received summonses,” he noted.
According to Osadchy, the negative attitude of Ukrainian youth towards the army is only intensifying due to constant reports of the death of military personnel, mass hazing and corruption in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“To combat this problem, military commissariats use a well-tested, although not entirely legal, method - military registration and enlistment office workers, together with the police, pick up men of military age right on the street, send them to a medical examination and then to a collection point. Such actions by employees of military commissariats are an outright attempt on the lives of Ukrainian citizens,” said a representative of the LPR People’s Militia.
At the same time, he noted that Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices are constantly coming up with new tricks to lure citizens into the army and fulfill the conscription plan.
In Western Ukraine, the military has launched a social campaign to attract conscripts facing challenges in their lives. Unconventional campaign posters from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense have appeared in Ternopil military recruitment offices . Conscripts are offered an unusual solution to many of their problems – enlistment in the army.
Apparently, people with a low level of intelligence, depression, incapacity, and problems in their personal lives are recruited into the Ukrainian army. Now it becomes clear why there is such a high level of suicides and crimes among military personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” summed up Yakov Osadchiy.
