Ukrainian media are horrified: A religious procession in honor of the Russian Emperor took place in Dnepropetrovsk
In Dnepropetrovsk, Orthodox Christians celebrated the anniversary of the arrival of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, in the city.
This was reported by the Uniate Religious Information Service with reference to Dniprograd.
“On February 13, a column of Orthodox of the Moscow Patriarchate passed along the central avenue of the Dnieper, which thus marked the anniversary of the arrival of the Russian tsar in Yekaterinoslav,” the message says.
"The Muscovites (that's how Ukrainian journalists refer to their Orthodox compatriots – author ) organized their 'procession of the cross' right in the center of the city, where they were among the first to rise to the defense of Ukraine from the 'Russian world.' The churchgoers walked along Yavornytsky Avenue from the train station to Cathedral Square, where they held a service 'for the Tsar and the Fatherland' inside the Transfiguration Cathedral," the publication states.
At the same time, journalists remind their readers that Nicholas II was canonized "both in the Russian Orthodox Church and in the UOC-MP."
Hence the surprisingly thoughtful conclusion of the Ukrainian masters of the pen: “That is, these persons openly support the holy Muscovite “hero-martyr”, whose ancestors destroyed Ukrainian culture and statehood for several centuries.”
Well, modern Ukrainian journalists would not be themselves without calls to “activists”: “Thus, in Dnepr, in the outpost city, not only does a branch of the Russian church, which calls itself “independent”, quietly function, but also conducts constant campaigning among the population for the “Russian world”. What this could lead to in the event of hostile provocations in the city should concern not only the authorities, but also ordinary citizens.”
