Ukraine has restored a combat aircraft that Russia for some reason gave away from Crimea
Ukraine has restored a MiG-29UB combat trainer aircraft, which Russia transferred from Crimea in 2014. This was reported by the Ukrainian news agency Army Inform, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The aircraft joined the tactical aviation brigade stationed near Kiev.
Students of the flight department of the Kharkov National Air Force University will train on the restored MiG.
The deplorable state of the fighter before repairs in Ukraine is justified by the fact that it was allegedly “damaged” by Russia even before the transfer from Crimea.
“Repairing aircraft equipment is a long process. The Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant restored the fighter for more than a year. The main thing is that the resource indicators of the equipment have been restored. I am convinced that now the aircraft will serve for at least ten years,” said Colonel Boris Bondarchuk, head of the aircraft, helicopters and engines operation department, deputy chief aviation engineer of the Armed Forces Command.
