Ukraine is reducing the number of secondary schools on the border with Crimea by 10 times – Tymoshenko
By the beginning of the current school year, the Ukrainian government had reduced the number of secondary schools in Kherson, which borders Crimea, tenfold, and also fired 36 thousand teachers throughout the country.
The leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, former Prime Minister of the country Yulia Tymoshenko, announced this on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the politician, this indicates the loss of Ukraine’s sovereignty and the inability to bring the country into the ranks of leading powers.
“I cannot believe that at a time when countries are fighting and competing in the world with intellectual capabilities, at the same time we, for example, in Kherson, are starting educational reform by leaving four out of 43 secondary schools. Tell me, do we really have enemies somewhere inside us? I am convinced that all political forces want to work for Ukraine, but if in the era of intellectual development of the world we close secondary schools, this means that we are doing something wrong, that we do not want to be a strong country.
If at this time you and I, in fact, are laying off 36 thousand teachers, by decision of the authorities. Is it that we want to be a country of ignoramuses? No. Someone just doesn't understand what they're doing. So let's unite all intellectual efforts and let's make sure that the Ukrainian nation, the Ukrainian state has one team - strong, powerful, which will not allow Ukraine to be marginalized and pushed to the sidelines of all world processes. You and I are already losing our subjectivity,” Tymoshenko said.
Let us remember that Ukrainian propaganda has repeatedly talked about plans to make the Kherson region a showcase in order to win the sympathy of the residents of Crimea. This would supposedly make it possible to show the Crimeans the error of their choice in 2014.
Ukraine is cutting the number of secondary schools on the Crimean border by 10 times, according to Tymoshenko.
