Ukraine is confident that it is at war with Russia, but wants “beautiful wording”
The conflict between Ukraine and the Donbass republics allegedly represents a war between Russia and Ukraine.
This was stated on the Mejlis television channel ATR by Alexei Arestovich, who was appointed the day before as the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation at the Minsk talks, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Arestovich boasted that he considers Russia an aggressor, but, working in the Trilateral Contact Group, he will not speak about this to the face of the Russian delegation.
“I have no problem saying that the war in Donbass is a war with Russia, that it is an international armed conflict. This is not only my wording, this is confirmed in the PACE resolution, the resolution of our Verkhovna Rada, and so on. It is underlined many times. And, as far as I understand, while participating in the work of the delegation, no one is particularly embarrassed to call it that.
Another thing is that there are goals and their achievement, and sometimes, when you achieve these goals, you don’t need to shout in the face of your diplomatic counterparts through the mediation of the OSCE, international representatives that you are aggressors, traitors. They don’t behave like that, diplomacy is the art of taking beautiful literary formulations and putting your own meanings into them,” said Arestovich.
