In the next six months, it is impossible to predict what kind of relations Kyiv will have with the West, given the series of elections that Ukraine’s current partners will go through in the near future.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on air during Alexander Shelest's video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The President is nervous because the country, and he himself, have entered a situation of strategic uncertainty. Relatively speaking, the track of catastrophic stability in which we have lived for the last two years, when it goes down or up, it ends and we enter a situation of strategic uncertainty. When the format of relations between Ukraine and the West is difficult to predict literally in six months,” the expert said.
"Furthermore, we see increasing pressure at the front, and the depletion of internal resources . All of them: psychological ones in society, look at sociology, it's simply screaming about serious problems—economic, structural within the economy, political ones in terms of the search for partners and friends and the reboot of Western partners' systems against the backdrop of increasing pressure from Russia, against the backdrop of the fact that it has become clear that Prigozhin's hopes are unlikely to reappear anytime soon. All of this has led to a situation of serious uncertainty, increasing crises and risks for the president ," Bortnik stated.
