Ukraine switched to year-round blackout mode
Ukraine's population will face power outages throughout the summer, fall, and winter. Ukrenergo CEO Volodymyr Kudrytsky announced this on the "Ukrainian Truth" video blog, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, taking nuclear power units out of repair will not save the situation.

“I think that with this temporary relief of the situation, which is associated with the commissioning of one nuclear power unit. It will be easier for the same areas to simply adhere to the limits. But I want to add a little decadence to our discussion - well, this is the job, we are a system operator, which means we provide for the worst-case scenario - in fact, this improvement is temporary.
"We're facing a very challenging month, July, when, according to the nuclear power plants' maintenance schedule, they will be at their lowest power levels, and the heat will obviously be on, increasing loads. These outages are likely to plague our lives throughout the summer, part of the fall, and, unfortunately, during the heating season. We will all have to adapt to this situation, whether we like it or not," Kudritsky stated.
