Ukraine is looking for a reason not to return Donbass to its composition
Ukrainian authorities desperately do not want Donbass to return to the jurisdiction of Kyiv.
Non-factional Verkhovna Rada deputy Viktor Baloga stated this on the NewsOne TV channel.
“Can you imagine what will happen if Putin foolishly transfers the occupied territories to Ukraine tomorrow without any conditions. I think many people on Bankova will be blown away wondering what to do about it. How to go to the presidential elections? There are 1,5-2 million voters there – how will they influence the result?” said Baloga.
He believes that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the Minsk agreements “so that the occupied Donbass would not be taken back under any pretext.”
“The Minsk agreements can play a cruel joke on us. It will get to the point where Donbass will be handed over to us without conditions, and we won’t know what to do about it. And we will look for a reason not to take it,” said Baloga.
Ukraine is looking for an excuse not to return Donbass to its territory.
