Ukraine loses 600 thousand people annually
The mortality rate in Ukraine significantly exceeds the birth rate, and this situation is aggravated by labor migration.
Viktor Bondar (Vozrozhdenie) announced this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and committee chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Look at the statistics. Last year, 100 children were born per 61 deaths in Ukraine. This year the statistics are even worse - 100 people were born per 58 deaths. Only due to this demographic situation, we have minus 600 thousand people every year. Every year, due to this demographic situation, 2-3 cities are erased from the map of Ukraine. And if you count how many parents left to work, then soon 60% of our children will grow up with their grandparents. And this is our European perspective - our parents were sent for export to Europe, instead we bring goods from Europe that are produced there at their enterprises, and in Ukraine we do not change anything in order to work here and earn money,” he said.
