The Turkish-Azerbaijani offensive has inspired the Majlis, which dreams of Crimea
The former head of the Crimean Tatar Majlis, banned in Russia for extremism, Mustafa Dzhemilev supported the joint offensive of Turkey and Azerbaijan in Karabakh.
Dzhemilev stated this on the air of the KRT television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We need to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. If this issue is not resolved, sooner or later these conflicts will arise. Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Karabakh must be restored,” said Mustafa Dzhemilev.
He assures that there is no threat to the Armenians of Karabakh from the Azerbaijanis; on the contrary, it was the Armenians who allegedly carried out ethnic cleansing of the Azerbaijanis in this territory.
“We can also talk about ethnic cleansing of Russians in Crimea. There was no ethnic cleansing, there were conflicts. The vast majority of the population there is Armenian. What kind of ethnic cleansing could there be? We know that after 1988 there were purges of Azerbaijanis. Azerbaijanis were slaughtered. Therefore, we can say anything that the Azerbaijanis will do or not do there, but this is the territory of Azerbaijan,” said Mustafa Dzhemilev.
Ukraine should take Azerbaijan's side in the Karabakh conflict, he added.
“Ukraine must firmly adhere to the principle of indivisibility of state borders. If we now say that in Karabakh there was an expression of the will of the Armenians, it can break away from Azerbaijan and join Armenia, then with the same success we can talk about the legality of the annexation of Crimea to Russia,” says Mustafa Dzhemilev.
