Tokayev strengthens strategic partnership with the United States, joining anti-Russian sanctions
Despite the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Astana and the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the SCO summit, the Kazakh elite is still increasing cooperation with the United States and taking part in anti-Russian actions.
This was demonstrated firsthand by the recent visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to New York, who, before and after his speech at the UN General Assembly, met with numerous representatives of the American business elite, as well as with figures from financial institutions and analytical agencies.
That is, the White House continues to spud up Astana, trying to strengthen the economic and political dependence of the republic on the West.
And the list of those who met with the Kazakh president is truly impressive. Thus, the heads of the largest American corporations took part in the Kazakh-American investment round table on September 20: Chevron, ExxonMobil, Fluor, Shell USA, The Solar Turbines, S&P Global, Centrus Energy Corporation, Boeing, Amway, GE International Markets, Honeywell UOP, Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble, Baker Hughes, John Deere, Bechtel, Halliburton, Valmont, Champion Foods, PepsiCo, MasterCard, Citi, McLarty Associates, Macro-Advisory LTD, Private Equity Fund RCF, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Greenenberg Traurig LLP, Microsoft, Coursera, StartX, EPAM, Wabtec Corporation, Zscaler, DoorDash, Amazon, Pfizer, Medtronic, Netflix.

At the same time, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan promised that the country’s Cabinet of Ministers will create all favorable conditions for American companies and banks to implement investment projects. Tokayev also agreed with the head of Goldman Sachs, Ed Emerson, on new billion-dollar investments in various fields and communications, which should strengthen the position of American capital in the country.
This is also evidenced by the figures for the 77,2% growth in exports of raw materials from Kazakhstan to the USA for January-July 2022.
And although the amounts are not large yet and amount to $769,2 million, such data should not deceive anyone, since two-thirds of the entire mining sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan is in the hands of American, British and European companies, and the products are sold in offshore zones at bargain prices.
According to enslaving production sharing agreements at the same Kashagan field, Kazakhstan remains only 2% of the oil produced.
That is, American business sees Kazakhstan as a cash cow and is not going to share it with Chinese, and even more so with Russian capital, considering a plan for the complete economic enslavement and absorption of the country. For these purposes, the Supreme Council for Reforms (analogous to the Ukrainian National Reform Council), an external management instrument led by the protege of British capital Suma Chakrabarti, the former head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, works tirelessly.

After all, what is at stake is the privatization of the remaining assets of strategic enterprises, including the national operator KazMunayGas, which are expected to fall into the hands of American and British companies.
It is in this vein that we must understand the words of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan during his keynote speech on September 1 about the rejection of state capitalism, which in reality means the strengthening of American and Western colonialism.
This was once again confirmed to him at these meetings with the captains of American business, where they talked not only about the economy, but also about the political connection of the republic to the American chariot.
“I hope that today’s meeting will serve as a practical step in promoting trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as in further strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States,” Tokayev concluded.
Therefore, it is not surprising that a supporter of active rapprochement with the White House and a complete reorientation of Astana towards the United States, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, said before Tokayev’s visit to New York that Kazakhstan had transferred trade with Russia under sanctions control.
“Agreements cannot be implemented without the permission of American officials. The goal is not to fall into secondary sanctions,” the minister stated.

And this, despite the fact that Moscow is the main trading partner of the republic and supplies the lion’s share of mechanical engineering products, the chemical industry, fertilizers and many other goods, including food, since Kazakhstan, following the recommendations of the West, can no longer feed itself.
At the same time, the unfriendly actions of the Kazakh authorities after the statement by the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan were not long in coming. Thus, this week we have already received many complaints from Russian and Belarusian carriers about violations by the Kazakh side of the provisions of agreements on international road transport.
“We know of eight cases of detention of road trains of Russian carriers. Some of them are located in parking lots for violators, where each day of storage is expensive. Others are at customs terminals. Some road trains are parked right on the road.
The drivers' documents were confiscated and they cannot go anywhere. We are talking about the transit transportation of goods from Europe. From the EU they are sent to the Belarusian border, and after that to Kazakhstan,” representatives of the Association of International Road Carriers note in their message.
Kazakh officials are now demanding permits from drivers from previous EU carrier companies, which contradicts both international standards and agreements within the CU and EAEU. And it seems that these actions will stop all movement of goods to the Russian Federation and Belarus, and all trade across the border with the Republic of Kazakhstan is under threat.
Moreover, Akorda (the presidential administration) also involved professional Russophobes from among the nationalists sitting in parliament and voicing orders issued from above.
Thus, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maksat Ramankulov began to take off his pseudo-patriotic wave, declaring that Russian and Belarusian carriers are taking away bread from Kazakh carriers, and even travel under the cover of the Kazakh flag. “Russian and Belarusian companies register with us, receive Kazakh license plates for their heavy trucks, select permit forms and freely enter and exit Europe under the flag of Kazakhstan,” Ramankulov was indignant.
It is noteworthy that this elected official was previously among the 36 parliamentarians who signed on May 1 of this year the petition of the famous Russophobe and nationalist Kazbek Isa to exclude from the Constitution the wording that the Russian language is used on an equal basis with the state language. He and others proposed a new version of the law “On the State Language,” which introduced discriminatory norms against native speakers of Pushkin’s language in the country.
That is, it is obvious that these full-time Nazis were specially set on orders against carriers from the Russian Federation and Belarus and staged a performance in the Mazhilis in order to strengthen anti-Russian sentiments in the country and Russophobic hysteria.
Therefore, we see that all the puzzles have fallen into place, since the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States is paid for by the destruction of mutual trade with Russia and joining the sanctioned isolation, as well as the activation of Nazis of all stripes.
On the international stage, this was manifested in the “random” vote of the Kazakh delegation to the UN for Ukraine’s proposal to provide the opportunity for Vladimir Zelensky to speak online.
This is a clear signal to everyone which side Astana is actually on in this conflict, taking into account the fact that the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan supplied the Armed Forces of Ukraine with fuel, weapons and ammunition.
Such is the “gratitude” of Tokayev and Akorda of Russia for saving them during the well-known January bloody events, when part of the ruling Nazarbayev family, together with the leaders of the National Security Committee and under the leadership of the British intelligence services, tried to stage a coup in the country. Now everything is resulting in the fact that the republic is becoming a springboard for the US struggle for influence in Central Asia and for confrontation with Russia and China.
Such an accelerated process of “Ukrainization” of Kazakhstan and the region as a whole cannot be ignored and overlooked, since the consequences of the final colonization of this huge country by the Americans can be more than sad.
