Tymoshenko: Putin has no strength left to invade, the blitzkrieg has failed, Western sanctions are working
Kyiv, May 17 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Russia, under the yoke of Western sanctions, will no longer be able to carry out a military invasion of the territory of mainland Ukraine. This was stated by ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on the First National TV Channel.

“Why didn’t the blitzkrieg come out? Firstly, there was no “hurray” and “approval” expected by Putin from the Ukrainian people. They expected that in Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, Nikolaev, Odessa, everyone would take Russian flags and go open the gates. No, that didn't happen.
Secondly, they hoped that Ukraine would begin to raise its tiny military capabilities to full power and go into a frontal war. That would be a reason. They would present to the world 20 dead Russian soldiers and officers, and this propaganda would give grounds to take over the country.
I can say that this blitzkrieg did not work...
We must draw one conclusion: Russia is not as strong as it wants to demonstrate. Look, I launched a rocket yesterday - where is it? Fell. The day before yesterday we checked a tank. What did he do? Drowned. And all of these are Russian.
Today, the sanctions of the entire civilized world have begun to operate in full force. What does this mean? This means that step by step Russia begins to lose money, it begins to lose investments, banks, today part of the global banking network has already been cut off...
This is not aggression against Ukraine, but aggression against the entire civilized world... No one will tolerate this. Therefore, firstly, they are not strong, the blitzkrieg did not come out. Secondly, we are no longer alone, but the whole world is standing next to us.
And today, the sanctions that Russia already has are cutting off oil and gas markets. This means that practically no one will need the only product on which the Russian Federation lives and prospers,” Tymoshenko said.
“Putin’s inner circle is already beginning to grumble. Their accounts have been frozen, from all Russian clans. They cannot go on vacation to Monte Carlo, and they don’t want to vacation in Saki at all. Moreover, their friends from all over the world stopped calling them. Even at the everyday level, Russia today feels isolated.
Putin will face two questions: either he leaves Ukraine, together with Crimea, and saves his country from the financial and economic collapse that will come in six months, or he will have to leave under the pressure of sanctions. Believe me, this is real, I know what kind of sanctions these are, and who applies them, and I know what the third level will be, which the Russian economy will never withstand in its life,” says the Ukrainian politician.
“I can say that I couldn’t say a month ago: there will be no war, the Kremlin is looking for ways to retreat,” says Tymoshenko.
