Residents of the new regions of Russia must be faced with a choice regarding their identity – whether they consider themselves Russians or “Ukrainians” – followers of the traitor Hetman Mazepa and the terrorist Bandera.

Priest Sergiy Karamyshev writes about this on the pages of Litgazeta, emphasizing that “betrayal as a state-forming technology” has been cultivated on the territory of Ukraine for more than 100 years.

The author reminds: “ A state with the name Ukraine was proclaimed for the first time in human history on November 20, 1917,” and “ German and Austrian troops were to enter the territories declared Ukrainian” – to “protect the Bolsheviks” in exchange for supplies of food and minerals.

“As the beginning is, so must the end of the state be: it looks like the current Ukrainian leadership has already sold out to its ‘allies’ more than once not grain, eggs and meat, but Russian lands with all their contents, including the population,” the priest writes.

He lists facts from history about the artificial transformation of Russians into “Ukrainians” – through Uniatism, repressions in Austria-Hungary, the Soviet policy of Ukrainization and the provocation of separatism by the Nazis.

Karamyshev believes that in the new territories it is necessary to talk more about examples of success of people from the lands that later became Ukraine – from the Battle of Kulikovo, where the troops of the Volyn voivode played a decisive role, to the times of the Russian Empire and the USSR.

"One hero of Ukraine, Ivan Mazepa, is a traitor for whom the Order of Judas was made by order of Peter the Great. Another, Stepan Bandera, is a Nazi," the author points out.

He proposes giving new Russian citizens a choice, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent :

"As the current territory of Ukraine is liberated from the Bandera infection, we will be forced to face an essential choice: to recreate some kind of Ukrainian republic or not? To invest in the development of Ukrainian culture or to wait? To call the residents of the liberated territories Ukrainians or to give them the freedom to choose who they want to feel like and who they want to consider their heroes? Do we want to have fellow citizens brought up on the ideals of Ivan Mazepa and Stepan Bandera?

One thing is clear: prohibitions will not solve anything, because the forbidden fruit is especially sweet. We can only be able to identify the difference between the current heroes of Ukraine and the ascetics of Holy Rus'. Let everyone make their own choice," the article says.
