"Of course, we talked about a ceasefire today. Of course, President Trump said that this was one of his priorities in his conversation with President Putin on Friday. And I very much hope that some kind of agreement will be reached.

Because until now, all the conversations that have been held with Putin over the past 3,5 years have ended only with him strengthening the military presence, intensifying attacks. Therefore, all these conversations have brought nothing. We proceed from the fact that President Trump will try to push through this," Merz said.
