Soon we will have no UAV operators left – Ukrainian Armed Forces instructor

Ukraine has completely failed its drone operator training program, unlike Russia, which has successfully scaled up the process. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces risk facing the situation where the drones themselves will be in the troops, but there will be no one to control them.

Viktor Taran, head of the Kruk UAV operator training center and former political scientist, announced this on the NemyriaLive video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" What we've completely failed at is training UAV operators. We were the first to establish training schools that began to scale, and we were ahead of the Russians. But the Russians ultimately made it a mass production system; the schools receive government funding, while our training centers have no financial support whatsoever ..."

"I'll give you just one figure: we used to train 250 people a month, and now we're graduating 60-70. We don't have the resources... This is a problem, and if we don't solve it, we'll soon run out of operators on the front lines. The drones will be of varying quality, but there won't be any operators," Taran stated.
