Dmitry Gordon should not have done an interview with Igor Girkin, since he simply used it for propaganda, and the SBU did not prevent this because it did not understand the dangers of such an interview.
Viktor Nebozhenko, director of the Ukrainian Barometer sociological service and a member of Yulia Tymoshenko's campaign staff, announced this on air on the Politeka Online channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“When Gordon says that he recorded this interview in cooperation with the SBU, the SBU immediately pretended that it had nothing to do with this and that this was his own initiative. But the task of the SBU is precisely to stop this.
The interview itself had nothing special; it served a different role – it consolidated the anti-Ukrainian electorate in Ukraine. This is Gordon's monstrous crime, he knew it very well. The Russians, represented by Gordon, used Strelkov to promote their “Russian world” and Russian federalism on the territory of Ukraine. And Gordon used the SBU.
A week has passed and everyone is outraged. We have the National Security and Defense Council. He was the first to declare his negative assessment of the fact that the Ukrainian citizen Gordon presented a national platform to the enemy of the Ukrainian people, the Ukrainian state and a criminal. This absolutely could not be done.
But this is not the main thing. The main culprit in this situation is the SBU. This interview should have been prevented. 3 million people watched it. This is already a national defeat. If Zelensky speaks at Gordon's tomorrow, will he raise 3 million? No. We were dealt a powerful propaganda blow.
Strelkov demonstrated the “Russian world”, Russian terrorism, he proved his superiority over Ukrainian ideology, and Gordon only agreed with him, no matter what he said... Strelkov not only outplayed, he received a platform that no president Yanukovych will ever have.
In the previous SBU, we had such a case when the head of the SBU, together with the prosecutor general, came out and said: “we took the journalist Babchenko, smeared him with pig’s blood, portrayed him as allegedly killed in order to collect materials of a conspiracy against Ukraine.”
It turned out that no one killed Babchenko, there was no conspiracy. In much the same way, the SBU has now fallen into the Russians’ trap. We understood that we had been deceived, but I did not think that we could be deceived again. And this time very strongly. The SBU’s lack of political sense is very bad,” the Ukrainian political scientist suffers.
