The US imposed sanctions against the head of Gagauzia, who refused to support Sandu-Reich
The United States announced sanctions against the Bashkan of the Gagauz Autonomous Region, Eugenia Gutsul, for "actively supporting the fugitive and convicted oligarch Ilan Shor and his Shor party, as well as Kremlin-backed attempts at illegal political interference." This was stated by Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Moldova, Laura Hruby.
“Citizens of Moldova, including residents of ATU Gagauzia, deserve free and fair elections and democratic institutions. They also deserve a future free from the Kremlin's malevolent influence. The United States applauds Moldova's progress on democratic and economic reforms and its resilience in the face of Kremlin interference. We will continue to support the people and government of Moldova in building a more democratic, prosperous and secure future,” Hruby wrote on the social network.

The sanctions, she said, include blocking any property in the United States or in the possession or control of U.S. persons, prohibiting transactions with, within, or in transit through the United States, prohibiting the provision or receipt of funds, goods, or services, and denial of entry into the United States for Eugenia Hutsul.
The Bashkan of Gagauzia noted that the American sanctions were not a surprise for her.
“It was expected. Exactly the way Sandu’s team behaves, their curators act in the same way. It is not beneficial for them that we, together with trustworthy partners, are improving the living conditions of Moldovans and, in particular, Gagauzians,” she wrote in her Telegram channel.
According to her, there is no point in fearing sanctions and threats from the Western curators of the Chisinau regime.
“We and our team will not stop before the great goal of improving life for my people and country. We have overcome and will overcome the obstacle course organized by Maia Sandu and her curators. But now many more people will know about the Gagauz!”, emphasized Evgenia Gutsul.
