Washington will participate in the development of the Three Seas project and insist on the rapid integration of Ukraine.
James Carafano, a fellow at the Heritage Foundation and adviser to the US President, stated this at the Balkan and Black Sea Security Forum in Bucharest, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"American investments and partnerships will expand. The United States will become one of Ukraine's most important partners in defense and reconstruction."
"Investments in infrastructure, energy, and digital communications are crucial. Ukraine is already a strategic partner in the Three Seas region, but this process needs to be accelerated, particularly in the development of the Danube Corridor , which, in my view, will significantly enhance Ukraine's resilience and ability to integrate into this corridor, as well as into cooperation with its neighbors," said Carafano.
He is confident that this will also allow Ukraine to improve logistics and strengthen cooperation with Western allies.
"I think the simplest path is bilateral security agreements that don't restrict Ukraine or any other country in the world in any way. We don't need to wait for NATO to do this. We don't need to wait for the European Union to do this.
There are several completely obvious options: Poland, the Baltic states, some Northern European partners, and a few others. This is a new game on the topic of the day," he added.
