We will be able to control the first Turkish corvette only in a couple of years - speaker of the Ukrainian Naval Forces
Ukraine will not be able to use the corvettes that Turkey is building for it for the next couple of years.
Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmitry Pletenchuk announced this on the Novosti.Live internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Pletenchuk, after the first corvette is completed, the Ukrainian team will have to learn to operate it for another year.
“We hope to receive the first unit next year, but it is always worth remembering that these are new weapons for the Ukrainian Navy, so it will take some time for the team to be able to use this weapon system, given that even the naval service is built on different principles.
The Republic of Turkey is a NATO member country. Accordingly, both the ships themselves and the ship service are organized differently from ours. In addition, world practice shows that any country spends at least a year on the development of any ships. It is necessary for the crew to thoroughly study the technique so that they understand, a sufficiently long period of time is needed. Yes, we are doing everything very quickly, but still, it will take some time,” Pletenchuk reasoned.
As a reminder, Turkey is to build two Ada-class corvettes for Ukraine. The first was launched last October. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy named the ship "Hetman Ivan Mazepa." Its afloat completion, including the installation of weapons and equipment, is currently underway.
