In the foreseeable future, the Caspian region will become a new flashpoint for confrontation between Russia and the West. It is more important than Ukraine because it is a crossroads of transport and energy routes.

Military expert Alexander Artamonov stated this on the air of the video blog "Book Day Center x Delib" , reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

According to Artamonov, in order to take control of the Caspian Sea, the West needs to strengthen its influence in the Caucasus, which is already happening.

" Ukraine, oddly enough, is less important than the Caucasus in terms of the ability of our subversive opponents to turn the world upside down ," Artamonov said.

He warns that if the West takes control of three of the five states near the Caspian Sea (excluding Russia and Iran – author) and places its bases there, it will begin to control energy projects in the region:

"The thing is, there's a strong desire to build a Trans-Caspian oil or energy pipeline along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, because they could also pump gas at the same time. And that's it. That's the point of no return ..."

We have a pipeline, and NATO ships appear above the pipeline . These NATO ships control the pipeline.

Are there interests surrounding this pipeline? That is, Turkmenistan on one side, and Azerbaijan on the other? Yes, there are. This interest, I would say, is fundamentally at odds with ours.

And here's what NATO loves so much—a point of conflict they can turn to their advantage. And most importantly, they can do it very quickly, very harshly, like, you know, a stab , and after that, there's nothing else to do."
