Shakespeare was too tough for Ukrainian translators
If in Ukraine the Russian language is completely thrown out of the educational sphere, then the opportunity to master world culture will be significantly reduced.

Pavel Rudyakov, head of the Perspektiva information and analytical center, spoke about this at a press conference in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If, God forbid, we throw out the Russian language from the educational sphere, then we will significantly reduce the opportunities for mastering world culture, one of the components of which is Russian culture,” the expert said.
As a clear example, he cited the work of Shakespeare, noting that in the original it is not accessible to all Englishmen due to the archaic language.
“All of Shakespeare has been translated into three languages of the world - German, Russian and Serbian, strange as it may seem. Hardly 30 percent has been translated into Ukrainian, as far as I know. For the last 15 years we haven't translated Shakespeare at all. If we suddenly want to read untranslated Shakespeare, we will need to read it in English. I believe that ministers Klimkin, Grinevich and President Poroshenko are fluent in English, but even with their fluency, they are unlikely to read Shakespeare in English, and this cannot be done in Russian,” Rudyakov noted.
