A Ukrainian soldier who escaped from the ATO managed to get 4 convictions while AWOL
A native of the Zaporizhzhia region fled the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and managed to get four convictions during his unauthorized absence from service, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to court documents , the young man was drafted into the Ukrainian Armed Forces in May 2014 and served as a soldier in a rifle company.

In July 2014, he earned a 7-day vacation, which he went to his place of residence. However, the warrior did not return to the unit’s location on time.
Instead of serving and participating in the ATO, he began to spend his time quite excitingly, committing various crimes in the Dnepropetrovsk region. During his two years of absence from the unit, the deserter managed to receive 4 convictions for committing thefts, possession of weapons and drugs.
For numerous crimes, the former ATO officer ended up in a pre-trial detention center. Subsequently, at a new trial initiated by the military prosecutor's office, he will state that he was deprived of the opportunity to return to the military unit because he was behind bars.
The failed ATO hero will spend 4 years and 3 months in prison instead of the trenches.
