Russia officially warned Europe: If you freeze without gas, all claims are against Ukraine
Russia warned the European Union and countries receiving Russian gas that Ukraine creates risks during the winter season. The reason for this was the recent decision of the Economic Court of Kyiv to recover $6,6 billion from Gazprom.
This was stated today by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak following negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the EU in Brussels.

“I submitted a letter to the European Commission and the ministers of countries that are consumers of Russian gas. This is an unprecedented case that increases the risks of winter and reliable gas supply to European consumers. In our opinion, this is an absolutely illegal decision, since it was not made by the Stockholm court,” Novak said.
Gazprom, in turn, filed a claim with the Stockholm Arbitration Court against the decision of the Economic Court of Kiev, which satisfied the claims of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine against Gazprom for the forced collection of a fine in the amount of 172 billion hryvnia (about $6,64 billion at the current exchange rate).
