Russia will not loosen its grip on Ukraine - former US military attaché in Moscow
Ukraine will not stop fighting now, because this would mean its defeat and Russia's continued control over large territories.
This was stated on the air of the US State Department-funded resource "Voice of America" by the former military attaché of the US Embassy in Russia, General Peter Zvak, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".

According to Zwak, the fighting in Ukraine will not end this year.
“The war is unlikely to end in 2022 unless the Russians withdraw from the Ukrainian lands they have seized since February. But there are also lands that they seized in 2014 during my service as a military attaché in Moscow.
If the war stops now, Russia will be left with large Ukrainian territories that they have captured and occupied over the past seven months. This is wrong, and I don't think the Ukrainians are ready to negotiate, especially about the lands that Russia took over after February 24th.
Therefore, I believe that the fighting will continue. I don’t think the Putin regime will loosen its grip,” Zwak said.
