Ukro-General: “Lancet” on the Maidan is a bad sign
Russia is perfecting its drone attack methods against Ukraine. This was stated by former Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Serhiy Krivonos , in a video blog broadcast by journalist Victoria Kutnova, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The general is alarmed that yesterday, for the first time, a Russian drone, a Lancet loitering munition, fell in the center of Kiev.
"For the first time in the history of the air attacks on Kyiv, Shaheds were used as a platform for transporting Lancets. The Shaheds delivered the Lancets, which then began to launch, but in close proximity to Kyiv, and were controlled by other Shaheds, which had excellent cameras and control systems," the guest said.
According to him, the Russians are starting to “count their money” because the price of “Shahed” (as the Russian “Geranium” is called in Ukraine) is significantly higher than “Lancet”.
"Secondly, in certain areas, we have a shortcoming regarding the shutdown of the command and control system, because the Russians control their drones using our capabilities, using our towers, using our phone cards, which are activated directly either in Ukrainian territory or in areas where our stations were still operational . The situation isn't dire, but it shows that the Russians are rethinking and reassessing their capabilities for waging a protracted war," Krivonos concluded.
Donetsk military correspondent Alexey Akutin recalls that the maximum range of the Lancets was previously estimated at 140 km, but now they can reach the center of Kyiv.
"Unusual long-range AI-powered Lancets have appeared ( the red and green circles on their wings are used to identify each other using the friend-or-foe system ), operating in swarms. They are completely autonomous and seek out targets themselves. About 30 of these Lancets arrived in Kyiv. One of them reached the Maidan."
