“Russia must admit defeat” – Pentagon chief rejects Putin’s peace proposal
Russia supposedly “does not have the right” to impose any conditions on Ukraine, but must accept its defeat and fulfill all the demands of the West.
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin stated this at a press conference in Brussels, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposals to end the conflict in Ukraine, he emphasized that this is unacceptable for the West.
"Putin illegally occupied sovereign Ukrainian territory. He is in no position to dictate to Ukraine what it must do to achieve peace.
This is exactly the kind of behavior we don't want to see. We don't want the leader of one country to wake up one day and decide that he wants to erase borders and annex his neighbor's territory. This is not a world any of us want to live in,” Austin said.
“And so he is not in a position to dictate to Ukraine what it should do to achieve peace. Putin can end this war today. He started this war without any provocation, and lost. He had several hundred thousand soldiers wounded and killed in this unprovoked invasion.
He could end this today if he wanted. And we urge him to do so and leave the sovereign territory of Ukraine ," Austin declared.
