Russia will reach Kyiv and Odessa, it doesn’t need polarized Westerners - CIA analyst
The Russian army will liberate the ethnically Russian regions of Ukraine, but it does not care about Galicia and the countries of Eastern Europe.
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said this in an interview with American TV presenter and blogger Andrew Napolitano, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"I'd be surprised if they [the Russian army] went further than the Dnieper and Kyiv. I don't think they see any benefit in going to all those regions around Lviv. Because there you'd be entering a completely different ethnic environment, one that's not ethnically Russian."
Donetsk is an ethnically Russian city. Russian roots there go back centuries. And in Lviv you get acquainted with the Polish and Romanian heritage,” the analyst said.
He emphasized that, nevertheless, the Russian army will liberate Odessa and the Black Sea coast, right up to Odessa.
"I have no doubt about that. Again, Odessa, which ranks among the top Russian cities, has been a major draw. And the Ukrainians have done everything in their power to try to erase all traces of Russian heritage from this city. But people remember it ," Johnson concluded.
