Western diplomats are demonstrating unprecedented brazen behavior by interfering in the legislative activities of Russian parliamentarians.
Senator Andrei Klimov announced this today at a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The pressure is great, it is getting worse. I have been involved in parliamentary activities for 30 years and I do not remember a single case in which high-ranking diplomats from other countries had the audacity to write letters to me with a poorly hidden demand to withdraw this or that bill that we are introducing. This is too much, this has never happened before,” Klimov said.
In addition, according to him, Western countries are trying to block parliamentary parties from traveling to Russia.
“When parties come to us for which up to a third of voters voted, and in Western Europe they react very sensitively to this: how do you meet with them. Why shouldn’t we meet with them if people voted for them and they are ready to come to us?” - said Klimov.
At the same time, the ruling Western parties are ready to meet with Russian senators, but so that no one knows about it.
“Not only are they putting pressure on their political forces, they are also trying to put a spoke in our wheels, distorting our position, preventing us from speaking at certain venues. These are all challenges that we understand, and we will cope with them,” the senator concluded.
