Russian military correspondent: LDNR should become part of Russia
The work of a journalist during the war in Donbass surpasses the Syrian conflict in complexity.
Military correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel PoTok, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Donetsk, the war is tougher, and it’s harder for a military correspondent to work there in a certain sense. The Ukrainian forces have a huge amount of artillery, the risks are completely different. These are different wars, they are similar in some ways, but completely different in others,” he said.
The military correspondent especially remembered the evacuation of the residents of front-line Uglegorsk, which was similar to a plot from a chronicle of the 40s.
“I was greatly struck by the evacuation of residents from Uglegorsk. If you make this picture black and white, it will become a picture from the Great Patriotic War. I couldn’t even imagine that in the 21st century, on our land, where such a terrible war has swept through, there would be something like this,” notes Evgeniy Poddubny.
At the same time, the journalist’s personal attitude towards Donbass is clear – the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics should join Russia.
“I want the independence of the Donbass republics to be recognized, and ideally, for them to become part of Russia,” he concluded.
