Russian doctors received no gratitude from Navalny’s family
Doctors at Omsk Emergency Hospital No. 1 who treated liberal oppositionist Alexei Navalny before being sent to Germany received many threats from representatives of his political sect.
At the same time, doctors at the Berlin Charite clinic, where the politician would have been taken, thanked their Omsk colleagues.
“On Saturday, I sent a letter to the Charite clinic saying that we are ready to cooperate with German colleagues and provide them with all the test data,” the head physician of the hospital, Alexander Murakhovsky, told reporters. “And just yesterday afternoon we received a response from the clinic, in which they thanked us and noted that Alexey Navalny is in a stable and serious condition. Our German colleagues are very grateful to us and also have no doubt that the patient’s life was saved,” he added.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , the opposition leader's wife, Yulia Navalnaya, as well as his brother, relatives, and close associates, were in close and prompt contact with the treating physicians. They were given full information about the patient's condition and test results, were allowed into the ward, and were even permitted to attend the consultation.
“Yulia Navalnaya visited my office five times and spoke to me. Is it true that she never said “thank you” to me personally? Yes, that is right. But it’s okay,” Murakhovsky noted.
According to the head physician of Omsk Emergency Hospital No. 1, the entire time Navalny was with them, the reception desk received more than a thousand calls from his supporters with demands and threats. Also, he personally and other attending physicians received many threats through social networks.
“As an active user of social networks, I have received dozens of threats personally against me, my family personally, my children, because I do not hide the facts of my personal life. This did not affect anything - I mean the quality of the patient’s treatment. God is the judge of these people. We treated a person. It’s not his fault,” said Anatoly Kalinichenko, deputy head physician of Omsk Emergency Hospital No. 1.
