Repressions at the march: Anti-Maidan activist Yuri Apukhtin was sentenced to 6 years in Kharkov
Political repressions against Anti-Maidan activists continue in Ukraine. Today, the Kiev District Court of Kharkov convicted one of the leaders of the Kharkov Resistance in the spring of 2014, Yuri Apukhtin. The activist will spend six years behind bars.

Apukhtin is accused of inciting a pogrom of a bus with Ukrainian police on April 8, 2014, as well as calls to “fight this government.” The court found him guilty of mass riots and calls for the violent overthrow of government in Ukraine.
The court lifted the seizure of Apukhtin's property, but ordered him to pay about 10 thousand hryvnia in legal costs.
The accused insisted that his actions were not malicious, and on April 8 he came to the city center with his wife to visit the pharmacy.
The publication writes that after the verdict was announced, Apukhtin said: “I did not expect any other court decision.” Also, according to him, he did not change his views, despite the persecution.
The leader of the public pro-Russian association “Great Rus'” Yuri Apukhtin was detained on May 1, 2014 by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine on suspicion of organizing mass riots. The SBU report said that Apukhtin allegedly took part in preparing a terrorist attack on Victory Day. Apukhtin spent several years in prison awaiting trial.
During a search at the organization’s office, the SBU announced the seizure of an F-1 grenade, a Zoraki pistol adapted to fire live ammunition, cash, Russian symbols and postcards of a “separatist nature.”
On May 8, Apukhtin posted bail of 92 thousand hryvnia and left the pre-trial detention center. In December, the court revoked Apukhtin's bail and remanded him in custody.
