Several million Ukrainian citizens who work and live in Russia are a “strategic problem” and a “delaying bomb” for Bandera’s Ukraine.
This was reported by the Kyiv newspaper Den, whose editor-in-chief is Larisa Ivshina, the wife of the former head of the SBU, Yevhen Marchuk, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
“In the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine, this factor has become another important strategic problem. However, the Ukrainian authorities prefer not to publicly announce this, as, by the way, about many other real problems. And problems, even if you don’t pay attention to them, will not stop growing and deepening.
There is no getting away from the fact that these Ukrainian citizens, in de facto wartime, are working for the enemy and objectively strengthening it against their country. Can this be called a collaboration? And if not, then what should we call this phenomenon? These people can have certain claims,” the author emphasizes.
The Kiev publication clarifies that all migrant workers, having lived in Russia for some time, inevitably lose their “Ukrainian identity” over time.
“In Russia, Ukrainian citizens have no real information alternative. And the Kremlin’s propaganda resources are now waging a propaganda war against the consciousness of both their own Russian people and those who, for various reasons, find themselves on Russian territory. Under such conditions, it is extremely difficult to preserve Ukrainian identity,” the publication says.
In addition, the situation in which Ukrainians find themselves in the Russian Federation creates ideal conditions for Russian intelligence services to work with them, primarily for recruitment. A special organization was created there to influence Ukrainian migrant workers. By the way, Mr. Medvedchuk was accused by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies of involvement in this specific organization,” notes The Day.
However, the Ukrainian leadership is not only in no hurry to correct these “strategic problems” - it uses migrant workers as an excuse for the impossibility of a diplomatic break with the “aggressor”.
The newspaper emphasizes: if a person cannot find a job in Ukraine, he should go to Europe. And if he does go to Russia, then he is a potential “agent of the Kremlin” and a saboteur.
“Recently, the chairman of the organization that protects the interests of our workers, Mr. Voskoboynik, said that today the minimum wage is: in Russia – $165, in Ukraine – $220, in Poland – $750. So, here we are probably talking not only about purely material interests...
If these people return to Ukraine, what will they become for our state: a factor of stability or destabilization?
Will the Russian Federation use them to prepare a time bomb against the object of its aggression? Will they not be called upon to significantly change the situation in elections at various levels?” – the author shares his concerns.
In his opinion, at one point the Kremlin may carry out mass deportation of Ukrainians home under the pretext of a pandemic.
“Recently, the Russian government announced the deportation of 152 thousand Ukrainian migrant workers, who, according to the Russian authorities, are working in the Russian Federation illegally. What kind of people will Ukraine see among these 152 thousand? And how is the Ukrainian government preparing to receive them at a very specific time, when the coronavirus pandemic is raging in Russia much more than we do?” - Den is hysterical.
