The reason why enemy drones hit the very heart of the country lies in the characteristics of these devices, but work is underway to adapt air defense to them, and the problems will be solved.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this during a meeting with Russian military officers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The President was asked why enemy drones fly to the Kremlin.
“At one time at Khmeimim (Syrian air base - ed.), we had a situation when these drones flew into the territory, dropped several grenades, and we had casualties among personnel there. But they quickly learned to deal with them in various ways and means. This is sometimes not easy, but it is a solvable task.
Here, apparently, it’s the same thing; our corresponding structures need to make the necessary decisions, because the traditional air defense system is configured for missiles, large aircraft, and, as a rule, drones made of modern lightweight materials, they are quite difficult to detect. But they are discovered,” he noted.
“Although here, too, it is necessary to carry out the appropriate work, open it in a timely manner, and so on. This is being done and will be done for sure, as for Moscow and other large centers, I don’t even have a doubt. But we need to get this work going. Of course, it would be better if this was done in a timely manner and at the proper level. But, nevertheless, this work is being carried out. I am confident that these problems will be solved,” Putin assured.
