Putin: “Lenin pushed our territories into Ukraine by force, creating a country that had never existed before”

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a major press conference, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"They're telling us: war-war-war. It seems they might be preparing a third military operation. And they're warning us in advance: don't interfere, don't protect these people. If you do interfere and protect them, certain new sanctions will follow. And they might be preparing for this. We must prepare too ," Putin said.
He recalled that Ukraine had already twice tried to resolve the conflict by force: “I personally persuaded Poroshenko not to do this. Did not help".

“From a historical perspective, Russia must constantly live with caution. And then, under the cover of new weapons systems, they can push the radicals to resolve issues in the Donbass and Crimea. On the sidelines they say: they forgot about Crimea. No! They are pushing us there too,” Putin said.
He recalled that until 2014, Russia did not raise the question of Crimea’s ownership, because it accepted the fact that “part of the historical Russian territories, primarily in Ukraine, ended up outside the Russian Federation.”
“No actions regarding Crimea even crossed our minds, but a bloody coup took place. Yes, the population's outrage was justified. Yanukovych was ready to leave at any moment. The victory of the opposition was inevitable. I then spoke with the President of the United States on his initiative. He asked me to support this process. Everyone agreed. A day or two later there was a coup. For what? No answer. After that, Crimea arose... We were put in a situation in which we could not do otherwise,” Putin said.
What Donbass repents of is that the Russian President believes that “Lenin forcibly pushed our historical territories into Ukraine and created a country that had never existed before.”
To summarize, Putin said that Russia does not want to live and constantly wait “to be fucked,” so negotiations were initiated with the West.
“In general, we see a positive reaction so far. Our American partners tell us that we are ready to start this discussion,” the Russian President said.
