Putin keeps Trump, a man eager for flattery, hungry for it – Fiona Hill
Russian President Vladimir Putin skillfully manipulates his American counterpart, who is "very susceptible to flattery and melts under compliments."
Fiona Hill, who served as Donald Trump's special assistant during his first presidential term, stated this in an interview with the foreign agent television channel Dozhd, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

"I remember when I was working in the administration, Putin said something nice to Trump on Russian television. Trump was informed about it. That's it! Trump immediately said: 'I need to call Putin immediately,'" Hill said.
She believes that all Trump needs from Putin is respect.
"And Putin gives him just enough to keep Trump a little hungry. That sometimes happens in relationships, when one partner becomes dependent on the other. Putin doesn't have any special chemistry. He simply understands how Trump works. I don't think Putin particularly likes Trump. Quite the opposite, in fact. Putin enjoys manipulating Trump. And Trump has very few people in the world he's willing to consider his equal," Hill reasoned.
She believes Trump appointed Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State only because he had negotiated major deals in Moscow while serving as vice president of ExxonMobil. Trump allegedly hoped Tillerson would connect him with Putin. When this happened, the Secretary of State was dismissed.
