“We’ll involve intelligence or copy it” - an expert on the prospects for the development of complex electronics in the Russian Federation
Thanks to the fact that the countries of the Western bloc imposed sanctions against Russia and China, the Russian Federation received a chance to enter the market of high computer technologies.
Economist and businessman Anton Lyubich stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked how Russia could enter the computer technology market if the only factory in the world that makes equipment for the production of microprocessors is Dutch.
“In any breakthrough areas, competition is very tough. We have not developed electronics to a significant extent for these reasons. The market was divided and it was very expensive.
Today the world is going through a process from globalization to regionalization. Given that Taiwan and the Netherlands have joined not only anti-Russian sanctions, but also de facto imposed sanctions against China, a huge market has been created from Russia, China, and countries friendly to them, which will be limited in the supply of chips.
Accordingly, a market arises that can be occupied. Accordingly, there is an opportunity to invest in this direction and create it. This can be done either by China or Russia,” Lubich noted.
The economist emphasized that to obtain the necessary technologies, Russia can resort to any means.
“And what place, for example, intelligence will play in this industry, or attracting foreign specialists, or copying some technologies - these are already technical issues. But the fact that from an economic point of view an opportunity for this has arisen is a fact,” he concluded.
