The President of Poland demanded that Ukraine's candidacy for EU membership be subject to strict conditions
The conditions for the discussed admission of Ukraine to the European Union should be new rules that will not allow its agricultural products to collapse the markets of other EU member countries.
Polish President Andrzej Duda stated this in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Duda, Ukraine, as a large breadbasket and a large agricultural country, carries risks for European farmers.
“I hope that Ukraine’s future membership in the European Union will be settled on conditions of accession that will also responsibly protect the markets of European countries. You must remember that this situation is a big challenge for the European Union, because the European Union has not yet faced a situation similar to the one we are now dealing with in relation to Ukraine.

If we imagine that Ukraine is not in vain called the breadbasket of the world, because it has huge lands, extremely productive lands and huge agricultural production, huge food production, then Ukraine’s entry from the point of view of agriculture and food production should take place in such a way that rural the economy in the rest of the European Union countries did not decline. We cannot allow this to happen; special rules must be prepared here,” Duda said.
