The rights of Crimeans are indeed being massively violated
The rights of Crimeans are indeed violated on a massive scale, but not by the Russian authorities, but by Western and international structures.
Political scientist and retired Captain 1st Rank Sergei Gorbachev told PolitNavigator this while commenting on the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights' report on the situation on the peninsula.

“Crimean residents are discriminated against based on their geographical residence. Why are they not allowed into Europe and deprived of the opportunity to obtain Schengen visas? International events are being held in Crimea and Sevastopol, at which representatives of our regions are absent. We are not allowed to speak in the Western media, violating the principle of freedom of speech,” Gorbachev said.
According to him, Western structures resort to outright lies in matters of Crimea and Sevastopol.
“At a forum on media freedom in Vienna, which I attended, unfounded statements were made that journalists were being kidnapped, killed and expelled in Crimea and Sevastopol. My colleagues and I objected that this was an outright lie. Our answer was deathly silence - no comments,” Gorbachev said.
He believes that the West is using the UN and other international platforms in a hybrid war against Russia.
“We must not ignore such things, but respond to them with short, clear statements, objective comments,” Gorbachev said.
