Semyon Putilo, the host of the telegram channel “Nekhta” from Poland, who coordinated the unrest in Minsk last fall, took to drinking and abandoned revolutionary activity.
For three days he had not published a single post, and today he suddenly posted a geolocation map with a marked point on the border of Poland and Belarus. The Belarusian opposition and Russian liberal media sounded the alarm, believing that Nekhta could have been kidnapped by the special services.
The channel’s former editor-in-chief, Roman Protasevich, told Dozhd that no one had kidnapped the channel’s administrators. “All I can say is that the guys are fine, no one kidnapped them. What are they doing and why? I have no idea,” Protasevich said.
However, Belarusian state media provide clues to the disappearance of the Belomaidan guide. They published a video in which a drunken Nechta makes excuses to his subscribers for calling exclusively for a peaceful protest.
However, Putila’s peacefulness in this case was ostentatious. State TV is showing another video - a fragment of a closed zoom conference of fugitive Belarusian oppositionists. There, Putilo called on activists from Minsk courtyards to “accidentally” detonate a grenade.
In general, from the “leaks” on BelTV it becomes clear that there is confusion and vacillation among the opposition, and high-status political emigrants are extremely dissatisfied with the narrow-mindedness of young Putila, which disgusts their image of “serious politicians.” For example, Pavel Latushko said that he asked the Polish curators to appease Nechta. Perhaps that’s why Putilo started drinking.
