After the photo with Gerashchenko, it doesn’t matter: “Yabloko” asked Grebenshchikov for a song

The chairman of the Russian liberal party Yabloko, Emilia Slabunova, turned to rock singer Boris Grebenshchikov with a request to allow him to use a fragment of the song “Train on Fire” for the “Time to Return Home” campaign.

“We have started collecting signatures for the peace initiative of Grigory Yavlinsky. Our goal is to withdraw our country from the war in Syria, stop Russia’s participation in any military adventures, and return state attention and budget funds to Russia. That is why we named our initiative – “Time to return home” – a line from your song about Colonel Vasin,” says the appeal posted on the website of the Yabloko party.

Let us recall that earlier Grebenshchikov’s fans were outraged that their idol was photographed with the odious Ukrainian politicians Mikheil Saakashvili and Anton Gerashchenko. Moreover, Gerashchenko, having posted this photo on his Facebook page, wrote that Russian artists are divided into good and bad - depending on how they define Crimea.
